Ergo Solve was formed in 2008 by Eddie Everett (Vancouver ergonomist, ergonomic specialist and ergonomic risk management consultant) to provide specialized ergonomic services and disability management in Vancouver and throughout British Columbia. Eddie has worked in the industry for 30 years and has the knowledge, skills and experience to make the difference.
Ergo Solve focuses on accurate ergonomic assessment of each individual by using the latest diagnostic tools and techniques such as ‘surface electromyography’ to measure muscle activity; ‘electrogoniometry’ to continuously measure joint range of motion; and ‘human digital imaging’ to determine a worker’s potential risk factors within a ‘virtual’ workplace environment.
Effective ergonomics risk management strategies are then designed and customized in order to eliminate or minimize risk of ‘Musculoskeletal Injury’ (‘MSI’) or ‘Repetitive Strain Injury’ (‘RSI’).
An investment in ergonomic risk management consultation by an employer, trade union, worker or individual and subsequent ergonomics risk management interventions can provide a realistic return on investment, not only in terms of occupational health and safety, workplace health and injury prevention but also productivity.
Eddie has now worked in the industry for over 30 years and has completed a Masters of Science and Technology in Ergonomics; Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy; Bachelor of Science Degree; and Certification in Assessment of Motor and Process Skills.
He is professionally affiliated with the ‘Association of Canadian Ergonomists’; ‘Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists’ and ‘College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia’ and is licensed to practice under the ‘Health Professions Act of British Columbia.’
He has worked at Workers Compensation Board of British Columbia (WorkSafeBC) as a Functional Evaluator; Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant; Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist in Special Care Services for catastrophically injured workers; ‘Permanent Functional Impairment’ Clinician; and Occupational Therapist in the Medical Rehabilitation Program. He has also worked with the chronically and seriously mentally ill in hospital and community settings; lectured and prepared course content for the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia; and submitted expert oral and written testimony on occupational risk factors to ‘WorkSafeBC Review Board’ and ‘Workers Compensation Appeals Tribunal’ (‘WCAT’).
